Have you already forgotten your New Years resolution? Volunteer Now invites you to think a little differently during 2015, forget the X Factor and get the “Feel Good Factor”. Connecting with people and giving something back not only helps others, but is proven to make us feel better about ourselves, but sometimes its difficult to find out what you might do or how you might help. Volunteer Now, the lead organisation for the promotion, development and support of volunteering across Northern Ireland, recently hosted an event with Buttercrane Shopping Centre in Newry and provided information on Health, Wellbeing and Volunteering. Despite the snowy weather 25 organisations attended to display the exciting opportunities that exist to enable people to stay active, gain experience and training and help others. Raquel Rodrigues Keenan, Community Engagement Officer with Volunteer Now said, “This project is providing a series of Action Days and Volunteering Events through which individuals can participate in a voluntary activity and learn more about volunteering opportunities and how to get involved. “Its a fact, volunteering has a beneficial effect on our health and wellbeing and when people have completed their activity they will be invited to a Volunteer Recognition Event as a thank you for their participation. Look out for the next exciting Clear event coming your way soon.” To find out more about volunteering in your area go to www.volunteernow.co.uk or to take part in a Clear event, contact Colette Ruddy on 07793073415 E: Colette.ruddy@volunteernow.co.uk
