Slieve Gullion Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Larkin has conveyed the utter dismay and disbelief of the Forkhill community after it was targeted in an attack which he described as ‘environmental terrorism’.

The local Councillor stated, “This blatant disregard for the local community and the resultant pollution of Irish soil and rivers can rightly be described as terrorism.

“Those involved in these nefarious activities need to take stock of the damage they are doing to the health and well being of both the South Armagh community and the environment. The continuing abuse of this area has to stop. These acts are viewed as acts of environmental terrorism.

He added, “The criminals engaged in these activities care about nothing but money. Their greed is causing great harm to our environment and concern amongst the community.”
