Raymond Kelly Park safety issues highlighted

Newry City Councillor Liz Kimmins has been involved in site meetings with NIHE and Newry and Mourne District Council officials to discuss safety issues for residents of Raymond Kelly Park.

Commenting on the issue Cllr Kimmins said, “It was brought to my attention by residents that the handrails at the front row of houses in Raymond Kelly Park were in a dangerous situation.

“The railings had been there since the building of the houses some 40 years ago and become unstable and a health risk. Both I and my colleague Cllr Casey had visited the area and I was delighted that Roads Service responded promptly to my call for replacement railings.

Cllr Kimmins added, “I am glad that there has been a positive outcome to this particular issue and I look forward to working on behalf of the residents in future.”
