Man, 52, arrested by Newry police on drugs and stolen goods suspicions

Police in Newry arrested a 52 year old man on suspicion of handling stolen goods and possession of Class B drugs.

Officers were on patrol in the Maginnis Street area on Saturday, 21st December, when they observed a man acting suspiciously.

The man was subsequently searched and police recovered a bank card in another individual’s name and a quantity of suspected cannabis resin.

He was arrested and later released on bail pending further enquiries.
