McGinn relishes Games ambassador role

Newry & Mourne Councillor Pat McGinn has said that he like many hundreds of others involved in assisting the recent 2013 World Police & Fire Games had enjoyed the occasion and he was sure that a lasting legacy would come from the Games which had athletes and participants from all over the world.

The Sinn Féin elected representative was a “Games Ambassador” and over the weekend joined many others who give their time freely to help assist in the rolling out of the Mountain Bike Competitions in Rostrevor.

“There certainly was a great spirit amongst us all” said the Councillor who had gone through the process of being selected as a Games Ambassador some months back.

“I was proud to be involved in such a practical way of bringing the event here and to ensuring that all visitors and locals enjoyed as best they could the wonderful occasion” said the Fews area elected representative who concluded by stating, “I have no doubt there will be a lasting legacy from these games. Newry & Mourne has shown once again that we are able hosts and have a great pride in what we do.”
