St Ronan’s Primary School visits the House on the Hill

Karen McKevitt MLA sponsored St Ronan’s Primary School to visit the Assembly last Tuesday 28th May 2013.

The P7 classes made their way to the House on the Hill where they toured Parliament Buildings, received an educational talk on democracy and the workings of the Assembly and met some of our local politicians.

Speaking to Newry Times, McKevitt said, “Sponsoring local schools to visit the Assembly is an important part of being an MLA.

“It is essential to introduce our young people to the democratic institutions and encourage them to get involved in political processes such as exercising your right to vote when of legal age to do so.

“The Primary seven classes from St Ronan’s thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the Assembly and it was an absolute pleasure to host them. They are a credit to their school and families and I wish them every success in their new post-primary schools.”
