Sinn Féin Crotlieve Councillor Mick Murphy has condemned those responsible for dumping on the main Hilltown to Rostrevor Road. Speaking to Newry Times, Murphy commented, “There have been a number of incidents of fly-tipping in the area, with a variety of items including unwanted furniture being dumped. “Those responsible need to be reprimanded for their actions. The dumping is causing a blight on what is otherwise a beautiful countryside and I would call on those doing it to cease immediately. There are sufficient amenity and recycling centres available, leaving absolutely no excuse for this type of behaviour. He added, “I would urge anyone who notices any of this activity or has any information about it, to contact Newry and Mourne council and report it as soon as possible so that it may be dealt with appropriately.”
