Police in Newry are appealing for information following a burglary on the Ballard Road, outside Lislea.

Some time between 9.30am on Sunday, 10th March and 9.40am on Monday, 11th March, entry was gained to an outbuilding.

An attempt was made to steal a tractor, however thieves were unable to take the vehicle. Thieves stole two rear wheels and the front right wheel of the tractor along with other items.

Items taken included 2 rear wheels for McCormick MTX Series fitted with Goodyear tyres and 1 front wheel for McCormick MTX Series fitted with Goodyear tyre. A  Dromone Hydraulic Pick-up Hitch for McCormick MTX Series was also stolen.

It is believed that a vehicle would have been needed to remove the wheels from the scene and police are appealing to anyone who noticed vehicles or people in the area during this time to contact them in Newry on 0845 600 8000.

They would also like to hear from anyone who is offered items of this nature for sale in suspicious circumstances to contact them.
