Sinn Féin Councillor Valerie Harte has welcomed the news that after a meeting with Newry and Mourne District council, DSD and Newry City Centre Management it has been agreed to open the car-park at North Street, Newry, as early as next week.

Speaking to Newry Times, Councillor Harte said, “It is estimated that this car-park at North Street will facilitate one hundred and fifteen free parking spaces, I welcome this news.”

“With the current level of parking problems in the Newry area, I would encourage people to avail of this much needed parking facility which will go a long way to alleviate the current parking nightmare within the city.”
