Sinn Féin’s newly appointed Assembly Member Megan Fearon participated in the Freshers’ Fair at Queens this week.

Miss Fearon commented on the event:

“It was a brilliant opportunity to engage with students and discuss any main issues they had, as a former student at Queens it was easy to relate to the excitement and the concerns of the young people that approached me.”

“We have had a brilliant amount of people signing up to our party. I think young people are becoming more politically aware as discontent grows in relation to the economic downturn.

She added, “It is vitally important for young people to become active now, politically or otherwise. In years to come it will be our generation leading the way in society.”
