Councillor slams ‘heartless thieves’

Forkhill Sinn Féin councillor Anthony Flynn has slammed thieves who robbed a house on the Forkhill/Dromintee Road on Sunday 9th September.

The Sinn Féin representative, who visited the family on hearing of the incident said,

“This home was broken into at approximately 3pm on Sunday while the family were attending the fundraising day in aid of Motor Neurone Disease in Dromintee Gaelic Club. The house was ransacked and a quantity of money and electrical goods were stolen.

“Naturally the victims are shocked and very shaken by this incident and I think it makes it all the worse when you consider that this family were supporting a community event to raise money and awareness for motor neurone disease, a stark contrast to the thoughts and actions of these criminals.”

Flynn added, “I must urge people to be vigilant about the security of their property and if they notice any suspicious activity to contact the PSNI.”
