Police in Newry are currently dealing with a security alert following the report of a suspicious vehicle on the Fathom Line near the city. The Fathom Line has been closed at the junction with Drumalane Road and the border.

Speaking to Newry Times, a spokesman for the PSNI said, “Motorists are advised to avoid this area and seek alternative routes if possible. The public are advised that if they come across anything suspicious in the area, not to touch it but to report it to police immediately.”

More to follow.
