McKevitt disappointed at occupational health decision

SDLP South Down MLA Karen McKevitt said she is disappointed that the occupational health service at Daisy Hill Hospital is to be relocated to Armagh and Craigavon for nine months. Ms McKevitt met with the Southern Trust’s Director of Human Resources and Head of Occupational Health at her Warrenpoint constituency office.

Following the meeting she spoke to Newry Times and said,

“While the relocation is temporary it is disappointing that a whole department has to close for nine months, with all the inconvenience that involves for staff who use the service, just to provide cover for maternity leave. There are so many people working and struggling so hard to save all the services provided at Daisy Hill that we don’t want to see anything lost even for a short time.”
