Newry vs Linfield postponed as Ballymena request independent assessment

Ballymena United have this week requested that an Independent Arbitration Panel consider the case of Alan Davidson’s eligibility in the JJB Sports Irish Cup.

Newry Times reported this week that Newry were successful in their appeal to the Irish Football Association and had been reinstated to the Irish Cup to face Linfield in the semi-final on March 31st. However as a result of Ballymena’s request, the game has been postponed until further notice.

The other semi-final tie between Dungannon Swifts and Crusaders will go ahead as scheduled.
