PSNI announce opening hours for licensed premises over Easter

Police in E District have issued a reminder of the permitted opening hours for licensed premises over Easter.

On Thursday, 5 April, the permitted hours are 11.30am to 11pm with 30 minutes drinking up time. Extensions are to midnight with 30 minutes drinking up time.

On Good Friday, the permitted hours are 5pm to 11pm. No extensions are permitted however premises can open earlier than 5pm for the sale of goods other than intoxicating liquor eg lunches and soft drinks.
The permitted hours for Saturday, 7 April are 11.30am to 11pm with 30 minutes drinking up time. Extensions are up to midnight with 30 minutes drinking up time.

On Easter Sunday licensed premises can open from 12.30pm to 10pm with 30 minutes drinking up time. No extensions are permitted and off licenses will not be open. Normal licensing hours will apply on Easter Monday and Tuesday.

Premises that have council entertainment licences may remain open for the designated later hours, but no alcohol can be served during that period. Alcohol purchased during licensed hours cannot be consumed after the half-an-hour drinking up time.
