Newry Council announce traffic arrangements for St Patrick’s Day

Due to the ongoing Public Realm Improvement Scheme taking place in Hill Street and Monaghan Street, the Annual St. Patrick’s Day on street celebrations will take place in the Kildare Street area of the City.

Kildare Street will be closed to through traffic from 8:00 a.m. on Saturday 17th March until approximately 6:30 p.m. Traffic diversions will be in place.

Hill Street open to through traffic will be from John Mitchell Place right through to Margaret Square where motorists must exit either to The Mall or to Water Street.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will leave The Quays at 12:00 noon and proceed along Buttercrane Quay, Merchant’s Quay, Sugar Island, Water Street, Abbey Way, William Street and back into The Quays at approximately 1:30 p.m.
