Craobh Rua Camlocha, club news and events – 20th February

Senior/Minor Liam O Donavan a native of Cork now residing in the locality has joined the playing and training team with Craobh Rua. All Seniors and available Minors should endeavour to make it to Circuit Training in the Craobh Rua Clubrooms on Tuesday Nights at 8pm. County Minor trials begin in March and we hope to see as many Craobh Rua minor hurlers showing an interest in being considered for the panel. Senior and Minor Challenge games are in the process of being arranged and players will be kept informed by both teams Liaison Officers. Under 10s, 12, 14s. Our Under 10 team and mentors travelled to the Ulster Provincial Indoor Hurling Blitz last Saturday. The Blitz took place in Meadowbank Sports Arena, Magherafelt. Co. Derry. Many thanks to the organisers and all who helped make the day so enjoyable. Henry Mc Cloy drove the Bus and Daniel Byrne also helped out. Our thanks also to them and the Corrinshego Club Coaching sessions have commenced for Under 10, 12, 14 age groups on Monday evenings from 6pm to 7pm at Newry Hockey Pitches/Complex. Managers and Coaches for each age group will be in attendance and all are welcome to attend. David O Brien (Under 8), Fiachra Bradley (Under 10), Labhrás Bradley (Rúnaí Craobh Rua) can be contacted for details Under 16 Coaching and Training sessions facilitated by Manager Anthony Courteny and Patrick Brady continue on Sunday mornings at 11am. Anthony will be in touch with all members of the panel to advise them of details re Coaching/Training sessions and upcoming games and activities. Committee Our committee have drafted the following response to support the retention of a 3 division structure – any proposal to change the current structure would require a properly organised debate and not a straw poll as this decision is central to hurling development in the county.
