The incident happened in the Cleary Crescent area

Police in Newry are appealing for information following a fire in the city.

The fire happened at flats in the Cleary Crescent area at around 10pm on Saturday 21st January. The fire was discovered on a balcony of one of the flats and was caused by two mattresses that had been set alight.

Police have said no one was injured during the incident and they are working to establish the circumstances of the fire. Police are appealing to anyone with information in relation to this incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
