Two arrested in Newry following Kilkeel and Tandragee burglaries

Police in Newry have arrested two males aged 23 and 30 on suspicion of burglary and going equipped for theft on Thursday 26th January.

Following reports of two men carrying out distraction type burglaries at houses of elderly females in the Kilkeel and Tandragee areas on Thursday afternoon, police stopped a car in the Armagh Road area of Newry on the same evening.

Two male occupants made off from police but were arrested a short time later. Both men are currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
