Pat McGinn: ‘Be vigilant over salt box vandalism’

Sinn Fein Councillor Pat Mc Ginn has appealed to communities to ensure that Salt Boxes left in their estates are not vandalised. The Councillor was speaking after localĀ  Roads Service Officers confirmed that they would be placing salt boxes in the Acorn Hill and Carrickvista areas of Highstreet Derramore.

He said, “Local residents have been looking such facilities for quite a while now and I am happy that Roads Service have responded positively to my request. Both Acorn Hill and Carrickvista were successfully assessed for salt boxes and hopefully they will be placed as soon as possible. On a broader issue I would appeal to all communities to ensure that their salt boxes are not vandalised nor abused. They serve a very practical but important essential service.”
