What part of Newry & Mourne are you originally from? Cabra, Hilltown.

When did you leave Newry? August 2011.

Why did you leave Newry? I left home for the experience and also to further my career.

Who did you go with? My girlfriend and two friends.

What are you doing now in Australia? I am living in Perth WA and I am working for one of Australia’s leading materials testing companies as a laboratory technician.

Are you enjoying life away from Newry? I am enjoying the lifestyle, weather, beaches and the brilliant work opportunities.

What do you miss most about Newry? I mostly miss my friends and family and the good food at home.

When will you return to Newry? I hope to return to Cabra in late 2012.

Career ambition: When I have gained more experience in my field of work I wish to progress to a higher position. A managerial or supervisor role.

What would you say to anybody still living in Newry who can’t find work? I would advise anyone in this position to move outside Europe as there are brilliant opportunities for skilled workers in countries like Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada.

Anything else you would like to add? I would like to wish all my friends and family a Happy Christmas and New Year.
