On Christmas Eve, the permitted hours are 11.30am to 11pm, with 30 minutes drinking up time. Extensions are to midnight, with 30 minutes’ drinking up time. On Christmas Day, the permitted hours are 12.30pm to 10pm, with 30 minutes’ drinking up time.

No extensions are permitted. On New Year’s Eve, the permitted hours are 11.30am to 11pm, with 30 minutes’ drinking up time. Extensions are to 1am, with 30 minutes’ drinking up time. On New Year’s Day, the permitted hours are 12.30am to 10pm, with 30 minutes’ drinking up time. Extensions are to midnight, with 30 minutes’ drinking up time.

Premises that have council entertainment licences may remain open for the designated later hours, but no alcohol can be served during that period. Alcohol purchased during licensed hours cannot be consumed after the half-an-hour drinking up time. Police will enforce the legislation by inspections of premises.
