Pretty n Pink benefits from Council staff charity sale

A charity sale carried out by staff from Newry and Mourne Council has been instrumental in raising £340 for Pretty n Pink, a Northern Ireland Breast Cancer Charity. The money was raised from a staff sale, organised by the Council’s environmental management team, which was held at the Council’s Offices during European Week of Waste Reduction in November. Staff from all sections of the Council donated CD’s, DVD’s and books in an effort to re-use old items and reduce waste while at the same time raising vital funds for the charity.

Pretty n Pink is the local breast cancer charity for Northern Ireland, and aims to provide practical help and support to patients and their families across the province, as well as raising awareness of the illness. Further information can be found on the charity’s website at www.prettynpink.org.

Mr Patrick McShane, representing staff from Newry and Mourne District Council, is pictured presenting Noeleen McErlane from the Northern Ireland Breast Cancer Charity ‘Pretty n Pink’, with a £340 cheque.
