Two police officers injured in city centre crash

A police man and police woman were among five people who suffered injuries after a car crash last night. The crash, which occurred at around 8.35pm last night (Sunday 11th March), involved a police car (Vauxhall Vectra) and a Volkswagen Passat. Newry Times reported exclusively last night about the incident after an alert Newry Times reader captured the scene on his mobile phone and sent it in to the news desk. Police, ambulance and the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service were at the scene a short time after.

Speaking to Newry Times, a PSNI Spokesman confirmed the accident. “A two vehicle collision occurred in the Trevor Hill area around 8.35pm on Sunday, 11th March. Three males and a female travelling in the Passat sustained minor injuries and two police officers, one male and one female, also sustained minor injuries.”
