Newry Burglary: Property ransacked and items stolen | Newry City News
Detectives in Newry are appealing for information and witnesses following a report of a burglary in the city.
Detective Sergeant Dougherty says, “Police received a report shortly before 6.30 pm on Thursday, 16 November, that a house had been entered in the Cecil Street area sometime after 12pm on the same day.
“The front door to the property had been forced open, and a number of rooms in the property were also ransacked.
“A pair of trainers were stolen.
“Thankfully, no one was in the house at the time.
“Our investigation is now underway, and we’re appealing to anyone who noticed anything suspicious to make contact with police.
“We’re keen to also hear from anyone who noticed a man in the area around 5.40 pm on Thursday, 16 November, who was wearing tracksuit bottoms, a dark coat and a baseball cap.”
Anyone with information, including mobile, dash-cam or CCTV footage, can contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1450 16/11/23.
