Flag day raises £1191 for PIPS Newry

Local man Damian Sherry along with family and friends organised a Flag Day in Kilkeel to raise awareness and funds for PIPS Hope and Support.

A fabulous £1191.00 was raised on the day from local community members supporting Damian and the volunteer’s efforts.

Main organiser Damian, who has fundraised on a number of occasions for the charity, thanked all those who gave up their time to participate in the flag day and to those who donated on the day.

“Personally, I want to thank all my family, friends and local community for coming together to ensure the flag day was a success and that vital funds were raised for such a deserving charity as PIPS Hope and Support,” he told Newry Times.

“On the day, we were delighted to raise a total of £1191.00 which we know will provide vital assistance to individuals and the wider communities which we all live in.”

Padraig Harte, PIPS Hope and Support Fundraising Officer, thanked Damian, his friends and family for their support to PIPS Hope and Support. “PIPS Hope and Support thank Damian, his friends and family and the local community for supporting our charity and for the continued raising of awareness within the Kilkeel area for our charity.”

Padraig continued, “All funds raised and donated to PIPS Hope and Support ensure that we can provide an efficient and effective service to support people, families and communities with issues relating to suicide, mental and emotional well-being and trauma as well as providing education and training programmes to people on how they can help reduce the risk of suicide in our greater community.

“Everyone at PIPS Hope and Support pay our deepest thanks to the people of Kilkeel who donated and in particular to Damian Sherry, Ann McGivern, Michelle O’Hanlon, Conor Cole, Caoimhe McAlinden, Aidan O’Hanlon, Reece Flannagan, Ben Matthews, Conor McCartan, Gary Clarke, Rory Donnan, Sarah Carville and Conor Sherry.”
