Wildlife boat trip around Carlingford Lough
Join Ulster Wildlife and Love Your Lough for a guided boat trip around Carlingford Lough on Thursday, 26 July in celebration of National Marine Week.
Explore the wonderful wildlife of the Lough, including a special visit to the harbour seal haul outs at Green Island and Block House Island.
Ulster Wildlife’s Living Seas Team will be on hand to help people look-out for spectacular seabirds such as diving gannets and graceful common terns, and if you’re incredibly lucky, you may even encounter playful dolphins bow-riding off the boat.
Hear about the Arctic whale sighted at the mouth of the Lough in 2015 and find out more about the Lough’s incredible underwater creatures such as sea pens and native oysters.
During National Marine Week (28 July to 12 August), Ulster Wildlife is celebrating NI’s amazing marine life with sea-themed events taking place up and down the country.
Dive into action and explore the seashore, hunt for shark eggcases or wallow with a wrasse.
Please bring binoculars if you have them.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Please check the forecast beforehand and dress suitably.
The boat trip departs from Greencastle Pier at 11am and lasts for three hours.
