South Armagh road repairs ‘near completion’
As emergency repairs to the Dromintee Road near completion, Slieve Gullion Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Larkin has acknowledged the prompt action by the Department of Infrastructure to address the concerns of the local residents, pedestrians and motorists.
The local Councillor explained, “Within a few weeks of attending a site meeting with an engineer from the Department work is almost finished at this stretch of carriageway, securing it from probable collapse.

“The contractor engaged by the Department has worked quickly and to a very high standard to ensure the safety of road users is maintained.
“I have spoken to a number of residents in the area who have expressed their appreciation for the fast response to the situation by the Deptartment.

The Sinn Féin representative added, “When issues such as this arise it is important that the concerns of citizens are addressed and I am pleased to say that the Department of Infrastructure has reacted immediately to rectify the problem.”
