Translink public meeting in Newry
Sinn Fein MLA Conor Murphy has confirmed that there will be a public meeting with senior Translink staff to discuss issues with the Newry rail service this week.
The Newry MLA confirmed that the meeting will be open to the public and will allow people to raise their concerns directly with Translink, following confusion over a meeting for elected representatives last week.
It will take place on Thursday, 25th of February from 4.30pm to 6.30pm in Newry Train Station, where people can raise concerns about the service directly to Translink staff.
Murphy explained, “It comes following a series of discussions I’ve had with Translink about issues passengers are having with the Newry service.
“While those discussions were useful there was such a diverse range of issues from people that we felt it best if they had an opportunity to raise them directly with Translink themselves and get answers to their questions personally.
He added, “I would urge anyone with concerns about the service to take this opportunity and attend the meeting. Show Translink the depth of feeling there is in the area on this issue and play your part in helping to build the rail service that our city deserves.”
