St Bronagh’s School Project ‘on schedule’
South Down MLA Chris Hazzard has confirmed that plans for a new school build for St Bronagh’s Primary School in Rostrevor are on course despite financial constraints within the Department for Education.
The Sinn Féin Education Spokesperson said, “With many government departments facing huge financial difficulties there is a fear that vital capital investments such as new schools will be negatively affected.
“I am delighted that Minister John O’Dowd has confirmed that a project manager has commenced work on the feasibility study for the new school at St Bronagh’s and a design team should be appointed in the near future.
The local MLA added, “Given the timescales involved it is anticipated that the design will commence in early 2015 with construction works starting later in the year.”
