SDLP call for action on Lisserboy Road and Corcreechy Road
Following a site visit by SDLP elected representatives Karen McKevitt and local councillor Sean O’Hare to the junction between Lisserboy Road and Corcreechy Road, they have requested action from DRD Road Service to address what they described as ‘a very dangerous location’.
McKevitt stated, “I have received representations from people living in the area who are experiencing great difficulty exiting the Lisserboy Road due to a mature tree blocking the site line.
“They have highlighted the extremely dangerous nature of the manoeuvre, and the numerous near misses and accidents that have occurred.”
Councillor O’Hare added, “ We are not in the business of calling for mature trees to be felled, but if Roads Service cannot design safe use into the junction, it may be the only solution.”
