Four people helped from smoke filled house in Newtownhamilton

Police officers in Newtownhamilton were able to help four people from a smoke filled house in the Fair View area following a call for assistance.

Around 5.36pm on Monday, 11th March police received a report of smoke in a house and attended immediately.

The house was full of smoke and officers forced the front door open. They located a man upstairs who required assistance to get down stairs and evacuated him before searching the rest of the house and locating an elderly female and two men in another room.

Officers had to force entry to this room and assisted the female and males and two dogs from the property.

NIFRS was notified by PSNI of the incident. Two Fire Appliances from Newtownhamilton Fire Station attended and Firefighters ventilated the property.
