Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a burglary in Newcastle.

Detective Constable Mageean says, “The burglary at a house in the Downs Road area of the town is understood to have occurred sometime between 12pm on Sunday, 21 July and 6pm on Saturday, 27 July.

“A skylight window in the utility room of the property was smashed, and there were signs that the house had been entered and that someone had been potentially residing in it.

“It was unoccupied at the time of the break-in, and at this time, it’s believed nothing was taken from the house.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Downs Road area during the time-frame of this report, and witnessed what happened, or noticed any suspicious behaviour, to make contact with police on 101, quoting reference number 1361 27/07/24.”
