New NIE Networks Vulnerable Customer Team Launched | Newry News

NIE Networks has announced a new Vulnerable Customer Team, which is dedicated to providing support and assistance to those in our community who may require additional help with their electricity service.

Whilst NIE Networks always helped and supported their vulnerable customers, this new team re-emphasises their commitment to delivering the best possible level of support.

The team consists of two Vulnerable Customer Agents, Paul Reid and Sinéad McAlinden, and the Vulnerable Customer Manager, Natasha Crooks. 

 



 

Speaking about the new role, Natasha Crook says, “I have worked at NIE Networks for three and a half years, and I am excited to take up this new role.

“I understand that some of our customers may require extra support due to their circumstances, and I want to ensure that they receive the best possible level of service.

“Contacting a large organisation can be daunting, and if a customer needs a helping hand, it is my role to ensure we are there for them.”

There are currently various ways NIE can help our vulnerable customers. 

NIE Networks is a JAM Card friendly organisation. Their teams are trained to support customers with learning difficulties, autism or communication barriers by giving them ‘just a minute’.

NIE also are a Dementia friendly organisation.

They offer Sign Live, which provides video relay and remote interpreting for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, and have facilities on their website to help anyone with a visual impairment.

One of the key services offered by NIE Networks is the dedicated Medical Customer Care Register for customers that relies on electricity for healthcare needs, you can join their Medical Customer Care Register to get extra support during a power cut.
