Newry BID’S ‘Summer in the City’ is Back | Newry News
We may not have the weather (yet), but we certainly have that summer feeling from Newry BID (Business Improvement District) with the return of its ‘Summer in the City’ campaign.
This will see free events and activities for all the family on summer Saturdays and Sundays in venues and locations across Newry City Centre.
There will be everything from free ice cream, Spider-Man roaming the streets, and paddle boarding at Albert Basin to live music from local artists, DJ Cu Chulainn, arts projects with Studio 23 and Jumping Clay, and gaming at Game in Buttercrane.
Eamonn Connolly, Newry BID Manager says, “Our ‘Summer in the City’ campaign is now in its third year with more variety and venues than before.
“This is a great incentive to come in and enjoy what Newry City Centre has to offer over the summer months.
“We often focus on negative news and perhaps fail to see the great things that are going on around us.
“As well as our ‘Summer in the City’ activities there is a family Water Festival at the end of August, Panic Station Comedy Club over the summer and the fantastic Iur Cinn Fleadh coming up.
“There’s lots for everyone to enjoy.
“We at Newry BID are committed to supporting our local businesses.
“We encourage our local community to do the same by visiting our city centre, supporting local events and getting involved in local activities.”
A full programme of events for Summer in the City is available on the BID’s website or by following Newry BID on social channels.
