McNulty presses Chief Constable on Crossmaglen Police Station | Newry News
SDLP Newry and Armagh MLA Justin McNulty has pressed the PSNI Chief Constable on the planned closure of Crossmaglen Police Station.
At a meeting of Stormont’s Justice Committee, Mr McNulty questioned the Chief Constable on the timeline for closure.
In his response, the Chief Constable said that the “disposal of Crossmaglen Station is being progressed”.
However, he said that some issues with communications networks at the station have delayed the process.
Newry and Armagh MLA Justin McNulty says, “I am keen to see the closure and disposal of Crossmaglen Station at the earliest possible opportunity.
“This site has the potential to offer massive value to the community.
“And it would also offer a chance to unlock huge potential for Cross Rangers.
“I will continue to press the PSNI leadership to progress the disposal of Crossmaglen station at pace and finally have the site returned to the local community,” he adds.
