33-year-old man gets sixteen-month sentence at Newry Court | Newry News Today
Police have welcomed a sentence of sixteen months which was handed to a man at Newry Crown Court.
Finbar Stephen Maguire (33) pleaded guilty to possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.
He also pleaded guilty to possession of criminal property at Newry Crown Court on Thursday 15 September.
He was sentenced to serve eight months in prison and eight months on licence.
Maguire was arrested following an intelligence-led search of a house in Crossmaglen, in May 2021, by South Armagh Neighbourhood officers assisted by officers from Tactical Support Group.
A quantity of cocaine and a sum of cash was recovered as a result of the search.
Detective Constable Cunningham says, “We will continue to tackle the supply, use and harm caused by illegal drugs.
“The support of local people is essential in helping us to remove dangerous drugs from our streets and put those who seek to profit from them in prison.
