A 22-year-old man arrested by police investigating a number of recent hate crime incidents in the Lower Square area of Kilkeel has been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.
Police were investigating a number of recent hate crime incidents in the Lower Square area of Kilkeel and arrested the 22-year-old man on suspicion of a number of offences including criminal damage, theft and indecent behaviour.
Sergeant Kenny Gracey says, “We are continuing with our investigation into these matters.
“But I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the Lower Square area of Kilkeel last Saturday and who witnessed a man acting suspiciously and damaging wreaths to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 597 23/10/22.
