Newry police call for witnesses after burglary at home of older person

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of a burglary at the home of an older person in the Foughilletra Road area of Jonesborough on Sunday night, 20 October.

Speaking to Newry Times, Detective Sergeant Bell said, “It is believed that entry was gained to the property at around 10 am on Sunday.

“A quantity of cash was taken during the incident.

 

 

“We are appealing to anyone with information, or who noticed any suspicious activity in the Foughilletra Road, Jonesborough area on Sunday afternoon, to get in touch.

“It is reported that two males were spotted a silver/grey Audi which had been parked outside the property.

“It was then spotted heading in the direction of Railway Road.

 

 

“We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have spotted this vehicle.

“Please contact detectives in Newry on 101, quoting reference number 643 of 20/10/19.”

He added, “Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
