Newry students visit Westminster
Sinn Féin MP Mickey Brady has welcomed a group of students from Abbey CBS, Newry, to Westminster.
The Newry and Armagh MP said, “I welcomed a group of students and staff from Abbey CBS Grammar School in Newry to Westminster.
“I had an engaging discussion with the students on a variety of topics including Brexit, the work of Sinn Féin MPs at Westminster and issues around homelessness.
“In particular we discussed the impact of Brexit in border communities and there was a great deal of concern coming from the students over this reckless Tory policy.
“It is encouraging to see such level of engagement in politics and current affairs from young people and I commend them and their teachers.
“I will continue to engage with these students and other young people from the local area to ensure their interests and opportunities are protected from Brexit,” he added.
