Man suffers head injuries during Newry burglary

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary on Rathmore Road in Newry yesterday evening, Saturday 24 November.

It was reported that at around 4.30pm the 45 year old male occupant of a house in the area answered a knock to the door.

Two males, carrying hammers, forced their way past the man and proceeded to assault a 24 year old male who was in the living room. 

 

 

 

 

The male sustained injuries to his head, body and limbs as a result of the incident. 

The males are described as wearing dark clothing and one is believed to have worn a dark coloured beanie hat. 

 

 

They are believed to have made off in a dark coloured saloon car with dark, tinted windows.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information about the incident to contact Detectives in Ardmore on 101 quoting reference 932 24/11/18.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
