Know what to do if a flight or sailing is delayed or cancelled
Do you know what to do if a flight or sailing is delayed or cancelled?
With recent ferry cancellations and strike action affecting air travel, The Consumer Council’s ‘Passport to Summer’ campaign aims to equip Northern Ireland passengers with all they need to know during the busy summer travel period.
Jenny Robinson, Transport Policy Officer at The Consumer Council explained, “Delayed and cancelled journeys can impact on a holiday before it has even begun or ruin a perfectly happy holiday at the end.
“It’s important that holidaymakers know their rights.
“If your journey is delayed or cancelled, you may be entitled to assistance and in some cases compensation.
“In terms of assistance this could be meals and refreshments, telephone calls or emails and overnight accommodation while you wait,” she added.
Anyone who wants more information on their air and sea passenger rights can contact The Consumer Council on 0800 121 6022 or visit www.consumercouncil.org.uk
