Warrenpoint Town FC have announced the signing of 27-year-old striker Marc Griffin from Glenavon.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Griffin has had spells at Dundalk, Derry City, Bohemians, Drogheda United and most recently with Glenavon.

Marc is a highly-rated, pacey striker who has played for some top clubs and is a known goal scorer.

Griffin will need no introduction to the faithful ‘Point fans as he has played against the local club in the past and hit the net twice in last season’s opening fixture against Glenavon.

Manager Stephen Mc Donnell stated his delight to secure the services of Marc Griffin. “Marc is a proven goal scorer and will add top quality to our squad for the campaign ahead.

“We are really looking forward to working alongside him,” he added.

‘Point Chairman Connaire McGreevy spoke of his appreciation for the professionalism of Glenavon and thanked Adrian Teer in his swift handling of the business.

“Adrian was very professional and upfront in the deal for Marc and I thank him and his committee for that,” he added.
