£1500 of suspected cocaine seized in Bessbrook house search
Detectives have charged a 25-year-old male with possession of a class A controlled drug, possession of a class A controlled drug with intent to supply and possessing fireworks without a licence.
The charges are in connection with the search of a house in O’Donoghue Park, Bessbrook recently by detectives from Criminal Investigations Branch Organised Crime Unit.
Approximately £1500 of suspected cocaine and a number of fireworks were seized during the search.
Speaking to Newry Times, Detective Inspector Millar said, “We are committed to tackling the issue of drugs and would appeal to the public to speak to us if they have any concerns or information regarding drugs in their area.
“The number to call is 101. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” Detective Inspector Millar added.
He is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates Court on Wednesday 23 May.
