House ransacked during burglary

Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following the report of a burglary at a property in the Abbey Park area of Kilkeel on Friday, February 23, 2018.

Sometime between 6:10pm and 6:50pm entry was forced to the house and a number of rooms were ransacked.

It is not known at this stage if anything was stolen.

Speaking to Newry Times, Detective Sergeant Bell said, “We would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area around this time, or anyone who has information that could assist with our investigation, to contact Detectives in Newry on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 1122 of 23/02/18.”

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” Detective Sergeant Bell added.
