PIPS Newry presented with cheque for £3350
The 2017 West Armagh Community Festival kicked off this year on Friday August 4th running through to the Saturday 12th August.
There was a tremendous turnout for both the sponsored run and walk, held as part of West Armagh Community festival.
Several hundred runners and walkers took part in the event that was organised in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Callan Street Gas Explosion.
Monies raised went towards the erection of a memorial stone. The other beneficiary of the run/walk was PIPS Newry & Mourne and at a recent cheque presentation the grand total of £3350 was presented to Seamus McCabe of PIPS Newry & Mourne.
Chairperson of the event Stephen Fields thanked all who came and participated on the day, all who supported with gifts and donations and he thanked everyone who helped in any way to make the event the great success that it was.
Seamus McCabe, on behalf of PIPS Newry & Mourne, expressed his sincere thanks to the festival organising committee and members and to all who supported the event for choosing PIPS N&M as their chosen charity and for such a generous donation.
