Newry SRC Lecturer nominated for Chef Lecturer Award

The nominees for the prestigious Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2017 have been announced.

SRC Lecturer Barry Smyth is among the 3 shortlisted for the Chef Lecturer award.

Barry has been nominated as a result of his recent work on industry engagement and youth careers seminars on the agri-food industry.

The awards recognise and reward leading talent in the hospitality industry. The winners will be announced at the Awards at the Westminster Park Plaza, London on Thursday 1st June.

 

Barry is a hospitality Lecturer at SRC Newry Campus and was recently involved in a Food Heartland event in conjunction with Young Enterprise NI.

This event was to show Year 10 students on the possibilities of careers in the Agri-food, tourism, hospitality sectors.
