Public urged to support ‘Run for Autism’

SDLP Slieve Gullion Councillor Kate Loughran has encouraged the public to get behind the Run for Autism which will take place on Saturday 1st October in Newtownhamilton.

loughrankatesdlpThe event is organised by Helping Autism in the Newry District (H.A.N.D.)

Speaking to Newry Times, Loughran said, “This has become an annual event in Newtownhamilton due to its huge success over the last number of years.

“Volunteers have been working tirelessly to promote this year’s event which includes a half marathon, a 10 mile run and a 10 mile walk.

“I would urge people in the village and the wider South Armagh area to come out and support the run and make it the biggest to date.

September 2016She added, “This fundraiser is hugely important to a great number of people and organisations who benefit from the money raised by HAND. So why not take part in the challenge, raise some money and enjoy what looks set to be a great day.”
