‘Brexit will hamper jobs and investment’ – Murphy
Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has said that an EU exit will have a detrimental impact on efforts to attract jobs and investment to the north.
Speaking to Newry Times, Murphy said, “It is concerning that a US investment conference which was planned for Belfast and Derry in October has been cancelled as a result of the EU referendum.
“Executive ministers travel the world attracting investment and jobs to the north and they have been successful in marketing the north as a gateway to Europe.
“It simply does not make sense to close that door,” he insisted.

Murphy added, “There is no doubt that being dragged out of the EU by Britain will hamper efforts to attract much-needed jobs and investment.”
