Membership of the group includes representatives from the Health and Social Care Trusts, DHSSPS, Health and Social Care Board, local Commissioning Groups, the voluntary sector and the Public Health Agency. There are also five carer members.
Commenting on his appointment, Frank Dolaghan said, “I consider this to be a recognition of the innovative work of the Brain Injury Foundation to provide support to carers and family members as well as brain injury survivors.

“The Foundation has always stressed the crucial role of carers in the lives of brain injury survivors.
He added, “Carers are a hugely undervalued resource and considerably more recognition needs to be taken by statutory bodies of their needs. I look forward to having the opportunity to contribute to that agenda.”
